Un-understanding
We went out for brunch today after church. It’s been a while since we’ve done that. Afterwards, we came home, and we all crashed, with our minds and bellies full. But in those wispy moments between awake and asleep, I had a flashback of a conversation I had with one of my professors over a year ago. Something about how knowing what you don’t understand about some thing actually gives you more understanding of that thing. I’m sure my professor had no idea how highly exalted God became in my mind at that moment. The fact that I don’t fully “get” God helps me “get” Him a little more. And the more I “get” Him, the more magnificent He is to me. That’s a delightful thought right before a nap.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9)
